Best International were delighted to support Boot Out Breast Cancer’s Cycling Club Launch Event last week, held at Hilton’s Cloud 23 private area in Manchester.
Hosted by Dame Sarah Storey on behalf of Podium Ambition, a professional women’s cycling team set up by Sarah and husband Barney, the event was highly well received and attended by the Women’s Cycling Team, Manchester based corporations, Best International clients and cycling enthusiasts.
With the professional team now in motion, the next stage for Sarah and Barney was to create an inspiring club opportunity accessible to everyone, no matter what level of ability, age or gender and so BOBC’s Cycling Club was launched.
The club is named after Podium Ambition’s charity partner, Boot Out Breast Cancer (BOBC) and is hoped that greater awareness will be raised through the club. It will provide various tiered membership options, including individual, family, group or corporate membership, allowing members to be active as they wish. As a member, you will gain access to events, discounts on bikes and other merchandise, promotions and track days, as well as the opportunity to race, get tips and truly feel a part of the whole organisation.
Boot Out Breast Cancer is a charity established by Debbie Dowie, the wife of former footballer and manager Iain Dowie after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Since their first event in November 2010, the charity has already raised over £540,000, which has been spent on equipment in the North West.
BOBC is also a charity close to Dame Sarah Storey’s heart. Thanks to early diagnosis, Sarah’s mum had her breast cancer successfully treated in 2004 and 2005 and since then Sarah has supported the charity.
We are pleased to be involved with the club and BOBC, and we look forward to supporting the club further.
Club Membership is now open and we really hope that people will become part of this exciting opportunity. You can apply for membership now at: http://www.teambootoutbc.cc.
