Best International were delighted to support the launch of Dame Sarah Storey’s new Boot Out Breast Cancer’s (BOBC) Cycling Club.
The club is the UK’s first ‘national’ cycling club established to partner a professional team and raise funds to save men and women from breast cancer.
Dame Storey established women’s cycling team Podium Ambition in 2014 but after two glorious years on the domestic scene will turn pro and take on the world’s cycling elite.
Meanwhile cycling fans in the UK can support the professional team whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause by joining ‘Boot Out Breast Cancer Cycling Club’
Dame Storey unveiled her dream at a VIP launch hosted by Best International at the Hilton’s Cloud 23 Bar in Manchester.
Brad Lincoln CEO of Best International said “It is with great pleasure that we continue to be involved with BOBC’s Cycling Club, helping to raise awareness for this worthy charity and increase membership for the cycling club.
“As a keen cyclist myself, it’s been great to get to know Sarah and gain the insider knowledge to bike equipment, events, local coaches and additional perks as part of the club.”
Dame Sarah Storey, the British Road and track racing cyclist and former swimmer, multiple gold medal winner at the Paralympic Games in both sports, and six times British (able bodied) national track champion, hosted the launch and is heavily involved with the charity. Her total of her 22 Paralympic medals, including 11 gold, makes her the most successful British Paralympian of all time.
Dame Storey said: “There are various levels of membership for people to enjoy. Our Captain’s Club Membership is a unique ‘money can’t buy’ option for those who would like to have greater access to the feeling of being a pro and gain additional associated benefits.
“Captain’s Club members also receive exclusive offers, content and experiences alongside the professional team and the scholarship team riders. However, there is also regular membership, family, group or corporate membership, allowing members to be as active as they wish. There is no requirement to race; some members will be leisure cyclists, whilst others may have ambitions of reaching the professional team one day.
“As a member, you will gain access to events, discounts on cycles and other merchandise, promotions and track days, as well as the opportunity to race, get tips and truly feel a part of the whole organisation.
“Best International has been unbelievably supportive and integral to the launch. We are delighted to be working with the team at Best International and thank them for their continued support”
Boot Out Breast Cancer is a charity established by Debbie Dowie, the wife of former footballer and manager Iain Dowie after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Since their first event in November 2010, the charity has already raised over £540,000, which has been spent on equipment in the North West.
BOBC is also a charity close to Sarah’s heart. Thanks to early diagnosis, Sarah’s mum had her breast cancer successfully treated in 2004 and 2005 and since then Sarah has supported the charity.
Dame Storey said “Club Membership is now open and we really hope that people will become part of this exciting opportunity: http://www.teambootoutbc.cc.”
